PCBs made from Rogers laminate are called Rogers PCB, belonging to RF PCB. Why are Rogers laminates so popular with hardware engineers around the world?

Rogers laminates are mainly known for their high-frequency characteristics, with low dielectric constant, low loss factor, and low dielectric loss, etc. They perform well in high-frequency signal transmission and are suitable for high-speed digital circuits and microwave communications. Its low dielectric constant temperature coefficient and low Z-axis coefficient of thermal expansion further enhance the reliability of the laminates in a variety of applications. Rogers laminates are mainly made of amide resins, which have good thermal stability and mechanical strength. They can maintain their performance in high-temperature, high-moisture, high-frequency, high-speed environments, and can withstand high temperatures, as well as have excellent chemical resistance.

Common Rogers laminates are mainly divided into the following categories:

1. RO3000 Series: Ceramic-filled PTFE composites widely used in RF and commercial microwave applications. This series is designed to meet the needs of high-frequency circuits with good electrical properties and mechanical stability.

2. RO4000 Series: Laminated materials made of hydrocarbon ceramics with superior high-frequency performance while reducing circuit manufacturing costs.

3. RO6000 Series: Laminates developed for high-performance microwave applications facing extreme environmental conditions.

4. AD Series: Dedicated to high-frequency PCB materials, utilizing PTFE or reinforced glass cloth materials, suitable for high-frequency applications.

5. RT/droid series: Suitable for high-reliability applications such as aerospace, its composite laminates contain PTFE and randomly filled glass or ceramics.

Rogers sheets are widely used in high-frequency circuits, microwave circuits, and RF circuits, especially in high-speed communications, wireless communications, satellite communications, radio and television, radar, and navigation. Through its high-performance characteristics, Rogers material can effectively control impedance transmission lines when designing matching networks and RF microwave circuits.

Compared to conventional FR4 materials, Rogers sheets are categorized as special sheets with higher manufacturing costs. General PCB fabricators are usually reluctant to handle small orders of Rogers sheets, so customers may face difficulties finding a suitable fabricator.
