The electronic non-stop toll ETC system can effectively solve problems such as traffic congestion and toll fraud. It is the most ideal alternative to current manual toll collection and semi-automatic toll collection. In recent years, with the enhancement of RFID scientific research capabilities and the increasingly severe traffic conditions, the ETC system has received great attention. However, in practical applications, the ETC system still has many problems such as poor compatibility, car following interference, adjacent channel interference, low transaction success rate, and slow traffic speed.

ETC non-stop system

The ETC non-stop system includes RSU roadside unit and OBU vehicle-mounted unit. RSU is generally set up near the highway toll gate. Its main function is to locate and detect OBU equipment.

In order to improve the positioning accuracy of the RSU to the OBU, the new generation of RSU uses phased array radar positioning technology. The RSU radio frequency transceiver part is designed in the form of a phased array antenna, and requires parameters such as loss factor, dielectric constant, and thickness consistency of PCB circuit materials. higher. Rogers Corporation, a high-frequency circuit material supplier, provides two cost-effective and high-performance PCB material solutions for RSU unit phased array antenna design. Among them, the cost-effective multi-layer high-frequency PCB board is RO4350B, which uses a hydrocarbon resin/ceramic filler system reinforced by woven glass cloth. The power efficiency is close to PTFE material and the processability is similar to FR-4 material. Low-loss multi-layer PCB The high-frequency board is RO4003C, which also uses a hydrocarbon resin/ceramic filler system reinforced by woven glass cloth, but the material is not brominated and therefore has not passed the UL 94V-0 certification. The following are the performance parameters of the two materials.

RO-4350 vs 4003

Judging from the power parameters of RO4350B and RO4003C laminates, RO4003C is better than RO4350B in terms of loss factor and dielectric constant temperature coefficient, but it does not have UL certification and can be used in RSU antenna designs with higher loss requirements. RO4350B has relatively balanced performance in all aspects and is suitable for conventional RSU phased array antenna design.

RO4350B and RO4003C high-frequency PCB board materials launched by Rogers have the advantages of low loss, high dielectric constant stability and strict batch consistency control, and can meet the antenna design needs of different applications of RSU design units.
