Gold finger (Connecting finger) is an interface used to connect motherboards (such as between memory modules and memory slots, graphics cards and graphics card slots, etc.). All signals are transmitted through golden finger. Golden finger are composed of numerous golden conductive contacts, which are coated with gold and arranged in a finger like pattern, hence they are called "golden finger". The golden finger is actually a layer of gold coated on a copper-clad board through a special process, because gold has strong antioxidant properties and conductivity. The golden finger is shown in the figure below, and the yellow part of the board edge area is the golden finger.
Gold finger is a conductive contact processed by electroplating gold technology. The Connecting finger is tightly integrated with the slot on the motherboard, and the transmission of signals and power is achieved through metal contact. 4. The maximum height of the golden finger is ≤ 2 inches;
5. The angle for chamfering the golden finger can be 20 °, 30 °, 45 °, 60 °, or 90 °;
6. The minimum distance between the solder and silver pads and the top of the gold finger is 14mil;
7. In addition to chamfering the insertion edge, the chamfering requirements for the golden finger should also include a 45 ° chamfer (1-1.5) or R1-R1.5 fillet on both sides of the insertion board for easy insertion and removal.
