How do you solder the components on bare PCBs?  Only by mounting the components on the PCB light board can they realize the electrical connection and electrical performance with the PCB line.This needs to involve PCB assembly knowledge and considerations, and then we look at the relevant welding methods! 


(1) reflow soldering

Surface mount technology (SMT) is a major soldering method. It is melted at a specific temperature in the electronic components and pre-positioned in the PCB pads on the solder paste, electronic components and PCB mechanical and electrical connections between the electronic components have been soldered to the electronic components in the PCB on the board's purpose. Reflow soldering relies on the role of hot airflow on the solder joints, and gel-like flux pre-sets high-temperature airflow under the physical reaction to achieve SMD welding. (2) Wave soldering

Wave soldering is to let the welding surface of the plug-in board directly in contact with high-temperature liquid tin to achieve the purpose of welding, high-temperature liquid tin to maintain a sloping surface, and a special device to make the liquid tin to form a channel similar to the phenomenon of the wave, so it is called “wave soldering”, the main material is the solder bar. After the board enters the wave soldering machine on a conveyor belt, it passes through some form of a flux application device, where the flux is applied to the board using wave, foam, or spray methods. Since most fluxes must reach and maintain an activation temperature during soldering to ensure complete wetting of the solder joint, the board passes through a preheating zone before entering the wave tank. Wave soldering machine uses heat radiation to preheat, the most commonly used wave soldering preheating methods are forced hot air convection, electric hot plate convection, electric heating rod heating, and infrared heating.


Process: Insert the components into the corresponding component holes - pre-coating flux - preheating - wave soldering cooling - removal of excess plug-in feet - inspection

Reflow VS Wave Soldering

(1) reflow soldering is a high-temperature hot air to form a reflux of melted solder on the components to be soldered; wave soldering is molten solder to form a solder wave on the components to be soldered.
