How to design a PCB?
We need to start from understanding the working principle of the circuit, the number and specification of components, and the size and layout requirements of PCB.
Use electronic design automation (EDA) tools, such as Altium Designer, AutoCAD, etc., to draw schematic diagrams and indicate the model, specification and packaging form of components. After the design is completed, the schematic diagram shall be reviewed and modified to ensure the correctness and realizability of the schematic diagram.
According to the schematic diagram and project requirements, determine PCB layout and wiring rules, such as component arrangement, wiring width and spacing. At the same time, considering the requirements of electromagnetic compatibility and signal integrity, special treatment is required for key signals and power supplies.
After the layout and routing design is completed, the design is checked and optimized. The inspection contents include electrical performance, manufacturability, testability, etc. If problems are found, they need to be modified and optimized.
If the design check is correct, the EDA tool can be used to generate manufacturing files, including photo files, drilling files, etc. Deliver Gerber files to PCB manufacturer for PCB manufacturing and testing.

PCB design software
The development of PCB design is a very long work. When designing PCB, the first thing to do is to choose design software. There is no perfect PCB design software. The key is to find a suitable tool to complete your design work quickly and conveniently.
There are many kinds of PCB design software, such as Protel, Altium Designer, OrCAD, Viewlogic, PowerPCB, Cadence PSD, AutoCAD, CAM350, Mentor Graphics' Expedition PCB, Zuken CadStart, Winboard/Wandraft/Ivex SPICE, PCB Studio, TANGO, PCBWizard (PCB production software package matched with LiveWire), ultiBOARD7 (PCB production software package matched with multiSIM2001), etc.
At present, Protel is the most widely used PCB design software. Protel is a CAD tool launched by PROTEL (now Altium) in the late 1980s, and is the preferred software for PCB designers. The software combines board level design and FPGA design.
In addition, Altium Designer is also a powerful EDA software and a complete board level omnidirectional electronic design system. Mentor Graphics' PADS is also a popular PCB design software. Its low-end PADS Layout (PowerPCB) provides interfaces with other PCB design software, CAM processing software, and mechanical design software, facilitating data conversion and transmission under different design environments.
