The main classifications of PCB connectors are as follows:
I. Board-to-board connectors:
1, ordinary board-to-board connectors: used to connect two parallel or perpendicular PCB, so that signal transmission between different circuit boards. According to the different pitch can be divided into a variety of specifications, such as pitch 0.50mm, 0.60mm, 0.80mm, etc., the smaller the pitch, the greater the number of pins that can be accommodated, the more dense the signal can be transmitted, but the processing accuracy and installation requirements are also higher.
2 mezzanine connector: mainly used in the case of limited space to connect two PCBs with close spacing, usually in the form of a stacked connection. This connector can save space on the PCB, commonly used in the motherboard-daughter board connection structure.

3, the backplane connector: is a set of electrical connectors parallel to each other, each pin of each PCB connector is connected to all the other connectors of the same relative pins, forming a connector bus. Backplane system is widely used in computer and telecommunications systems, can be used to connect multiple plug-in cards along a single trunk to form a complete backplane system.
4, spring-loaded board-to-board connectors: internal spring structure, even when there is a certain fluctuation in the spacing between the board, but also to ensure a stable connection. Suitable for some of the connection stability requirements are higher, and may be subject to vibration, shock and other impacts of the equipment, such as portable devices.
5, wire to board connectors: used to connect wires or cables to the PCB. Its wire connection part is similar to the wire-to-wire connector, while the circuit board connection part is mostly pressed or soldered two-piece connector. This connector can be separated from the connection of the mating interface may be the same as the same product line of wire-to-wire connector mating interface.
6, wire to wire connectors: connect two wires, one end of the connector is permanently connected to the wire, the other end forms a separable interface. Permanent connection can be used in the form of crimp or insulation displacement contact (IDC) and so on. Wire-to-wire connectors are available in a variety of housing geometries, including rectangular and circular polymer housings, as well as metal housings primarily used in military applications.
Second, other special types of PCB connectors:
1, PCB plug: is a connector that plugs directly into the PCB board, usually used to connect external devices or other circuit boards.
2, memory card connectors: specifically used to connect a variety of memory cards, such as SD cards, TF cards, etc. and the PCB board, in order to achieve data storage and reading.
3, card edge connector: by inserting the edge of the PCB board into the PCB connector to realize the connection, commonly used in some need to frequently plug or replace the PCB board connection scenarios, such as expansion cards, test boards and so on.
