The full name of the BOM list is (Bill Of Material) that is the bill of materials.In layman's terms, it is a product's bill of materials, listing in detail what electronic components or components are needed to form this product. Many electronic engineers provide a BOM list that lacks a precise definition of the material's brand and manufacturer's code,or the manufacturer's code is missing part of the tail code, resulting in the PCBA processor may have selected a conventional series of materials by default. Often, the series of ICs with different end codes may represent subtle differences in application, packaging piping, voltage and current ratings, packaging, etc.This kind of irregularity in the BOM list may cause the PCBA processor to select a regular series of materials by default.This kind of irregular BOM list will lead to the production of PCBA boards may have some functional failures or failures in a particular application environment, and it is extremely difficult to troubleshoot. In view of this, it is highly recommended that electronic engineers standardise the brand, manufacturer's code, description and packaging of each material and other extremely important information. In this process, reference can be made to public platforms such as Digikey and Mouser.


Because the R&D and production of electronic products are repeatedly calculated and updated, and will be constantly promoted to optimise the product, in this process,the BOM list will also be updated along with it,even if it is an update of a material, it will have an immeasurable impact on the product. Therefore, after each update, the old BOM list must be marked as outdated and sealed to stop using.In order to ensure the order of version and model management, the BOM list of the product must be issued by the R&D department and used online, or at least signed by the R&D engineers and the head of the R&D department at each level to ensure the correctness of the BOM list. Then we should contact the PCBA OEM in time to provide the new BOM list to the PCBA manufacturer to avoid the situation that the BOM list is updated, but the product is still purchased and produced according to the old BOM list.
